Basics

The website largely fulfils the four basic principles of accessibility

Perceivability
  • Clear text structures and sufficiently high contrast between text and background.
  • Provision of alternative text for images, graphs and other graphic content.
Operability
  • Users can navigate through the website without needing a mouse.
  • Transparent and intuitive navigation to simplify user guidance.
  • Avoidance of time-critical or complex interactions that could make access difficult.
Understandability
  • Use of simple and clearly formulated language.
  • Consistent, predictable page elements and clear error messages or input aids for forms.
  • Provision of tutorials or explanations for more complex functions.
Robustness
  • Use of structured HTML with semantic markup.
  • Support for modern and common standards such as HTML5 and ARIA technologies.
  • Regular tests on various platforms and devices as well as updates for optimisation.
  • We consult external accessibility experts.
  • The website has been tested and analysed with the BIK BITV-Test / EN 301 549 (Web) and the BIK WCAG-Test (Web).
  • We carry out automated and manual tests internally.
  • Employees are regularly sensitised and trained in digital accessibility.
  • We have established a live chat for help, which can be used in an accessible way both visually and technically.
  • We are in the process of implementing an accessible design system (legible colours and contrasts and the font sizes and fonts comply with the relevant standards).
  • We are optimising existing code with structured HTML and semantic markup.
  • We are working on a clear and structured navigation so that content can be found easily and intuitively.
  • We are currently working on full keyboard operability.
  • We are working to complete the alternative text for editorially managed images.
