Hanging energy supply solutions for onshore and offshore drilling rigs

A large number of hoses and cables must be reliably guided on the hoists of rack and pinion onshore and offshore drilling rigs. Robust routing systems are required to ensure a reliable supply of power or signals, for example. This is because the heavy and long cables hang far down along the drilling rig and are particularly susceptible to external influences such as strong winds, which pose major safety risks, especially in the offshore sector.
Service loops are often used in such cases. All cables are moulded together in a dress pack and then installed to the side of the drill pipe.

However, robust energy chain systems can also be used as an alternative to service loops to safely and reliably manage the cable and dress pack. They enable a particularly long service life, which means there are no downtimes or maintenance measures and costs can be kept to a minimum.
In addition, all cables can be routed along the derrick in a confined installation space.
As a large number of cables always means high installation costs, it is also worth purchasing a readychain® - i.e. an energy chain that is fully equipped and assembled with cables.
For 3-dimensional applications, our e-loop® system can be used instead of the energy chain. An internal tension cable transfers the tensile forces acting on the e-loop® to the mounting bracket and the structure of the drilling rig. This ensures that the cables remain completely strain-relieved.
