Examples of successful shore power applications

The Mongstad offshore base is one of the busiest bases in Norway. The e-spool® shore power ensures that the twice-daily changing ships are reliably supplied with shore power. Integrated in a 10-foot container, it can be positioned anywhere.

Schneider Electric and igus® have developed the world's first shore power supply system for a floating storage unit for the new offshore LNG terminal in Bahrain. The core component of the system is a flexible cable supply system between the crossbar and the FSU.

The floating liquefied gas power plant "Hummel" from Becker Marine Systems supplies cruise ships in the harbour with energy. The igus® shore power gangway, which serves as both a cable supply system and a passenger gangway, connects the barge to the quay and carries cables with connectors.
