Pantographs are exposed to constant vibrations, shocks and swivelling movements. This makes it all the more important for them to function reliably. With igus components made from high-performance polymers, bearing points in pantographs require no additional lubricants and are therefore maintenance-free. Incorporated solid lubricants make the components self-lubricating. High-performance polymers from igus are extensively analysed in the test laboratory. Based on the test results, their service life can be calculated with online tools.
As igubal spherical bearings are made of non-conductive high-performance polymers, they can be used as insulating components on pantographs. For this, the igubal rod end bearings KBRM and KARM are used. The iglidur plain bearings, consisting of the materials G J, W300, X and Z, have the same non-conductive specifications and are installed on pantographs. Each of these materials has certain advantages, such as conductivity, low moisture absorption or resistance to high temperatures. Both igus products demonstrate their strength - maintenance-free use - in this application. In addition, igus high-performance polymers are corrosion-free and weather-resistant.
