Linear plain bushes in the yoghurt packaging industry

The machines from Sri Lakshmi Engineering Works, which are intended for packaging in the dairy industry, required thorough cleaning with cleaning agents and water. A particular problem arose with the external recirculating ball bearings, which required external lubrication. The lubrication was washed away during the regular cleaning cycles, which led to corrosion and impaired the efficiency of the bearings. The need for external lubrication brought further challenges. As the products being processed are foodstuffs, there was a risk of grease or oil coming into contact with the products during the lubrication process, which could lead to contamination.

To ensure that there were no problems with grease contamination after packaging the yoghurt pot, our colleague from India visited the customer. He analysed the application and suggested the drylin® R Linear Bushing RJUM-02-20. Service life calculations were carried out and many application references were shared, especially with washing processes during packaging. The customer was convinced and an offer was prepared on the same day. The drylin® R linear plain bushings fulfil FDA conformity with stainless steel  and are therefore specially designed for the cleanroom. In cleanrooms, it is crucial that all components are lubrication- and corrosion-free - a specification that all our products fulfil. In addition, the linear plain bushings offer outstanding precision, which is achieved through adjustable bearing clearance on the sliding elements. This enables fine adjustment to fulfil the highest accuracy requirements.
