iglidur® A500 | The endurance runner at higher temperatures in the food sector
Bearings made of iglidur® A500 are approved for direct contact with foodstuffs. They have an exceptionally good chemical resistance and are thus suitable for the most difficult applications in the environment of machines for the food industry. Although iglidur® A500 is a very soft material, it also has excellent compressive strength, even at high temperatures.

Tolerances and measuring system
The installation dimensions and tolerances of the iglidur® bearings depend on the material and wall thickness. The moisture absorption and thermal expansion are decisive for the material. Bearings with low moisture absorption can be installed with a small bearing clearance. The following applies to the wall thickness: the thicker the bearings, the greater the bearing clearance must be.
Test procedure
Installation
iglidur® bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter is set with the corresponding tolerance only after pressing into the housing bore. The press-fit interference can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures a secure press fit of the bearings. Axial or radial displacements in the housing are thus reliably avoided.
