iglidur® A200 | FDA-compliant for low speeds
Plain bearings made of iglidur® A200 are suitable for use in direct contact with food. They are therefore the ideal solution for bearing points on machines for the food industry, medical device construction, small household appliances, etc. Since the admixture of solid lubricants had to be dispensed with in favour of food compatibility, the thermoplastic alloy of iglidur® A200 is particularly matched to abrasion resistance. Furthermore, iglidur® A200 is characterised by its ability to embed dirt and its quiet operating characteristics.

Tolerances and measuring system
The installation dimensions and tolerances of the iglidur® plain bearings depend on the material and wall thickness. The moisture absorption and thermal expansion are decisive for the material. Plain bearings with low moisture absorption can be installed with small bearing clearance. The following applies to the wall thickness: The thicker the bearings, the greater the bearing clearance must be.
Test procedure
Installation
iglidur® plain bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter is set with the corresponding tolerance only after pressing into the housing bore. The press-fit interference can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures a secure press fit of the bearings. Axial or radial displacements in the housing are thus reliably avoided.
